ghost towns as we ride our 4-wheelers and learn ab
out the history of Colorado's mining industry. Yo

will be a Cowboy Chuck Wagon dinner on Sunday even

Kids ages 8-15 will have an opportunity to use a B.B. gun on paper targets to win great prizes\, including a f rozen turkey (must be present to win). Kids may ar rive with their parents anytime\, but no later tha n 12:15pm to participate in the competition! Other activities include a climbing wall\, archery\, ou tdoor education experiences\, leather craft making and more!! Make a day of it!

\nWhile watching a movie based on the life story of Sergeant Alvin York\, a World W ar 1 congressional medal (CMH) honor winner\, ther e was a part in the movie where Alvin was in a tur key shoot as a young man. The turkey shoot took pl ace in the hills of Tennessee. Several COFA member s have seen this movie and we thought it looked li ke a great event for our kids. COFA's free Kids' T urkey Shoot is for boys and girls from 8 t o 15 years of age. We at COFA want an eve nt that is fun for kids and a learning experience for them as well. While the competition is only fo r those between 8 and 15\, kids of any age may par ticipate in the bb gun target shoot as long as the y are able to safely hold and reach the trigger of a bb gun.

The kids will shoot a designated amount of BB' s at paper targets to see if they can win a frozen turkey. The scorers will add up total amount of h its near bullseye to determine the winner. Boys an d girls are put into age brackets (8-9\, 10-11\, 1 2-13\, 14-15). A frozen turkey is awarded to the w inner of each age category! Four prizes per age gr oup! COFA provides the BB guns so everyone has a f air chance at shooting. We don't allow personal BB guns...just COFA's!

\nOne of the purposes of the Ki ds' Turkey Shoot is to get them involved in the ou tdoors and away from sitting on the couch playing with their electronics. Our kids today\, for the m ost part\, have no clue how much fun it can be doi ng fun things in the outdoors. That's what COFA do es so well\, it helps families and individuals con nect with each other while doing activities like c amping\, fishing\, ATVing\, hunting\, hiking\, bik ing\, etc. Through COFA's events like the Kids' Tu rkey Shoot\, fathers and sons reconnect and build their relationship with each other. Same with moth ers and daughters...they reconnect as well. COFA's ministry is to get families to develop healthy bo nds through outdoor events.
